You can schedule Instagram posts with Claude the same way you’d ask an assistant: “schedule these 5 Reels for next week at 6pm with captions.” Claude can’t post to Instagram on its own, but with the Creator OS connector it gets scheduling tools, and Creator OS servers publish each post at its time, even when your computer is off. Here’s the full setup and a weekly workflow.
Monday, one prompt:
"Schedule week 41: 5 Reels at 6pm, 2 carousels at 9am"

Instagram (your laptop can be off)Step 1: connect Instagram and Claude (5 minutes)
- Create a Creator OS account and connect Instagram. It needs to be a Business or Creator account (free to switch in the Instagram app).
- In Claude, go to Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector, and paste
https://mcp.creatoros.ca/mcp. - Sign in to Creator OS, pick your workspace, and choose read & write.
Using Claude Code instead? One command, see claude mcp add.
Step 2: get your media somewhere Claude can reach
Claude needs a URL for each image or video. Three easy options:
- A public link (Google Drive set to anyone with the link, Dropbox, your own site).
- Ask Claude to import it with
upload_media_from_url, which gives a reusable media id. - In Claude Code, point at local files: “upload everything in
./week-41/“.
Step 3: ask for the schedule
Be specific about times and your timezone. Some prompts that work:
- “Schedule reel-1.mp4 to reel-5.mp4 as Reels, one a day Monday to Friday at 6pm Eastern. Write captions in my voice from the file names, max 3 hashtags.”
- “Post these 8 images as one carousel on Thursday at 9am. Put the link to my guide in the first comment.”
- “Schedule this as a Story tomorrow at noon.”
- “Use my best time to post for each day instead of fixed times.” (Claude reads
get_best_time_to_post.)
Before Claude schedules anything, ask it to show you the plan as a table: date, time, format, caption. Approve, then it schedules.
Step 4: check and change
- “Show me everything scheduled for next week.”
- “Move Wednesday’s Reel to Thursday at 7pm.”
- “Change the caption on Friday’s post to…”
- “Delete the Story for tomorrow.” (Claude asks before deleting.)
Make the posts better, not just scheduled
- Covers: “use cover.png as the Reel cover” sets a custom cover.
- Links: captions can’t hold clickable links, so use the first comment or a comment-to-DM funnel (“comment GUIDE”).
- Collabs: “post it as a collab with @partner”, see collab posts.
- Test hooks: post variants as Trial Reels first.
- Reuse: “also post the Reels to TikTok and YouTube Shorts at the same times.”
A weekly routine (20 minutes)
- “How did last week’s posts do? Which hook and format won?”
- “Write 5 Reel ideas for next week in the winning pattern.” (Record or edit them.)
- “Schedule next week from
./week-42/at my best times, show me the table first.” - Daily: “Reply to new comments, skip anything negative and show me those.”

Can I use ChatGPT instead?
Yes, add the same URL as a connector in developer mode. See ChatGPT as your social media manager.
Can it schedule a whole month?
