You schedule posts to multiple platforms by creating one draft in Creator OS, picking the networks, and letting it apply each platform’s rules at send time. One caption, one upload, one schedule. You do not open seven tabs or re-upload the video seven times. You review per-platform settings once, then publish.
ONE DRAFT

+-- media:upload once -----> med_ id (reused everywhere)
|
+-- posts:create --platforms instagram,tiktok,youtube,x,linkedin,threads
|
+--> per-platform rules applied at send time
| Reels vs Shorts vs feed, char limits, first comment
|
+--> missing_platforms returned for anything not connected
(the rest still publish)How to Schedule Posts to Multiple Platforms at Once
You write the post once, choose the platforms, and set a time. Creator OS takes care of the rest.
The command looks like this:
creatoros posts:create \
--text "New build is live. Here is what changed." \
--platforms instagram,tiktok,youtube,x,linkedin,threads \
--media https://example.com/clip.mp4 \
--scheduledAt 2026-03-14T13:00:00Z \
--timezone America/Toronto
The same thing works over the REST API with POST /v1/posts. You pass content, platforms, media, schedule_at and timezone. Creator OS applies each network’s rules on its side. A vertical video becomes a Reel on Instagram and a Short on YouTube. It does not go to a feed post by accident.
If a network in your list isn’t connected, you don’t lose the whole post. The response returns missing_platforms, and everything else still goes out. That one detail saves a lot of failed schedules. The full option list lives in the post options docs.
What You Can Upload to Multiple Platforms at Once (11 Networks)
Creator OS posts to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads, Reddit, Discord and Slack, plus Skool. WhatsApp is for messages, not posts, and a Shopify store is a blog and catalog.
Upload the file once with creatoros media:upload ./clip.mp4. You get back a med_ id. Use that id in every post instead of a URL. The file is stored and reused, so you are not pushing the same 80 MB video through five separate uploads.
Not every format lands everywhere, and that is fine. Here is how the same asset travels:
| Your asset | Where it makes sense | What Creator OS does |
|---|---|---|
| Vertical video | Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook | Reel, TikTok video, Short, Facebook Reel |
| Square or landscape image | Instagram, X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Threads | Feed post on each, sized by the network |
| Text only | X, Threads, LinkedIn, Facebook, Reddit | Plain post, no media step |
| Carousel images | Instagram, Facebook | Multi-image post, carousel cards |
Threads caps at 500 characters per post and 250 posts per 24 hours. X caps standard-account video at about 2 minutes 20 seconds. Creator OS does not hide those limits. Run creatoros validate:post-length --text "..." before you schedule if the caption is tight. Caption strategy is its own topic, covered in our Instagram scheduling guide.
How to Schedule Instagram Posts and Threads Posts With the Same Draft
You keep the copy the same but push the link to a first comment, because Instagram captions do not carry clickable links.
Here is the move that matters. In your draft, set firstComment for Instagram and Threads. On Threads the first comment becomes the first reply, up to 500 characters. On Instagram the link shows up under the post, not buried in a caption nobody can tap.
{
"content": "Three fixes that cut our render time in half.",
"platforms": ["instagram", "threads"],
"media": ["med_8f2a1c"],
"schedule_at": "2026-03-15T14:00:00Z",
"timezone": "America/Toronto"
}
If you want Instagram to test the Reel on non-followers first, add "trial_reel": "auto" with post_type: "short_video". Note the guardrail: Instagram only allows Trial Reels on accounts with 1,000+ followers, and Creator OS refuses the post up front below that with trial_reel_needs_followers. It does not silently fail at send time.
Threads supports topic_tag (1 to 50 characters, no periods or ampersands), and you can post multi-part threads with threadItems. The Threads scheduler walkthrough goes deeper.
Publish Video to Multiple Platforms: Per-Platform Tweaks That Matter
One video, different titles and covers per network, all inside one post.
Use the advanced form of POST /v1/posts. Platforms become objects with their own settings. TikTok consent and privacy flags go in a top-level tiktok object. Here is the pattern:
{
"content": "How I ship a feature in one afternoon.",
"platforms": [
{ "platform": "youtube",
"options": { "title": "Ship a feature in one afternoon",
"visibility": "public",
"madeForKids": false } },
{ "platform": "tiktok",
"options": { "privacy_level": "PUBLIC_TO_EVERYONE" } },
{ "platform": "instagram",
"options": { "cover": "med_cover01" } }
],
"media": ["med_clip02"],
"tiktok": { "allow_comment": true, "allow_duet": true,
"allow_stitch": true }
Three tweaks earn their keep. First, YouTube titles cap at 100 characters and a firstComment gets pinned (up to 10,000 characters). Second, a custom thumbnail works on long-form YouTube but not Shorts, so don’t plan on it there. Third, a TikTok draft: true sends the video to the TikTok Creator Inbox for you to finish in the app, which is how you handle trending audio the API can’t attach.
One more: muteAudio for Instagram strips the audio track when you want a silent loop. If you are producing the video with Claude Code, the OPEN VIDEO EDIT skills turn a raw clip into an animated short, and you can watch the workflow on the launch video.
Post on All Platforms at Once With a Bulk Queue
For a month of posts, build a JSON calendar and load it in one command.
Write your calendar as a JSON file, then run:
creatoros posts:bulk-upload --file ./march-calendar.json --dryRun
--dryRun checks the whole file without publishing anything. Fix what it flags, then run it again without the flag. Each entry in the file carries its own text, platforms, media and schedule time. This is how you queue 30 posts across 11 networks in one pass instead of 30 separate jobs.
The bulk scheduling from a CSV guide shows the spreadsheet-to-calendar path if you prefer rows to JSON. After a run, check the queue with creatoros posts:list --status scheduled and see what’s live with creatoros posts:list --status published.
Can You Upload on All Platforms at Once Without Losing Quality?
Yes for the upload step: one file, one med_ id, reused everywhere. Each network then re-encodes to its own spec, which is out of your hands.
What you control is what you send. Upload the highest-resolution master you have, once. Creator OS stores it and hands each platform the same source. You are not bouncing a file through a download-and-reupload chain that adds a generation of compression each time. If you want to sanity check a media URL before scheduling, run creatoros validate:media --url https://example.com/clip.mp4.
The thing to know: quality at the viewer end is the network’s call. Instagram, TikTok and YouTube each encode to their own targets. Send clean source, let them do their job.
How to Schedule Social Media Posts With MCP
If you use Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf or VS Code, you can schedule posts to multiple platforms by asking in plain language. Creator OS runs a hosted MCP server at https://mcp.creatoros.ca/mcp. Nothing to install.
In Claude: Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector, paste the URL, sign in, pick your workspace, and choose read only or read & write. Each connection gets its own key under Settings, Connected apps. On agency plans, each client workspace is a separate connection.
Claude Code gets the server with one line:
claude mcp add --transport http creatoros \
https://mcp.creatoros.ca/mcp \
--header "Authorization: Bearer cos_live_..."
Then a prompt like this does the work:
“Draft a post about the new feature. Schedule it to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, LinkedIn and Threads for Thursday 9am Toronto time. Use the clip at med_clip02. Put the link in the Instagram first comment.”
The agent calls create_post with the platforms and the schedule. About 160 tools are available, including get_best_time_to_post if you want it to pick the slot, and get_post_analytics after publishing. Destructive tools are marked so the AI app asks you before it deletes anything. Setup for each app is in the MCP docs.
FAQ
How do I upload to multiple platforms at once?
Upload the file once and reuse the returned id. Run creatoros media:upload ./clip.mp4, then pass the med_ id in --media for a post that targets several platforms. The same id works on every network in that post.
How do you schedule Instagram posts and Threads posts together?
Put both platforms in one draft and set firstComment so the link lands under each post. Threads caps a post at 500 characters, so trim the copy and let the first reply carry the detail. Create the draft, set the time, and both go out from the same schedule.
Can I publish a video to multiple platforms without re-uploading it each time?
Yes. You upload once, get a med_ id, and point every platform in the post at that id. Creator OS applies each network’s video rules at send time, so a vertical clip becomes a Reel and a Short without a second upload. Each network still re-encodes to its own spec, so send your best master.
How do I post on all platforms at once in bulk?
Build a JSON calendar with one entry per post, then run creatoros posts:bulk-upload --file ./calendar.json --dryRun. Check the dry run, then run it again without the flag. Each entry can carry its own platforms, text, media and schedule time.
How do I schedule social media posts with MCP?
Add the hosted MCP server at https://mcp.creatoros.ca/mcp to your AI app, sign in, and pick your workspace. Then ask the agent to schedule the post with a date and a platform list. It calls create_post on your behalf.
