Creator OS MCP with Claude Sonnet 5.5 means adding one hosted connector at https://mcp.creatoros.ca/mcp inside Claude, signing in to Creator OS, then asking Claude to schedule posts, reply to comments and DMs, and pull analytics across 11 platforms plus Skool. Nothing to install, no server to run, and the API, MCP server and CLI are included in every plan.

What Is Creator OS MCP and Why Claude Sonnet 5.5
Creator OS MCP is a hosted Model Context Protocol server that gives Claude about 160 tools for publishing, scheduling, replying and reading analytics on your connected accounts, and Claude Sonnet 5.5 is the model that drives those tools from a plain conversation.
The setup matters because of where the tools live. You are not copying API keys into a config file or running a local server process. The server is hosted at https://mcp.creatoros.ca/mcp and you add it as a custom connector inside Claude. From then on, Sonnet 5.5 can call tool names like create_post, list_comments, send_message or get_post_analytics when your request calls for them.
Two guardrails are worth knowing before you start. A connection can be read only or read & write, and the API refuses writes from a read-only connection, so the read tools are all you see. Destructive tools such as delete post, delete comment, disconnect account or deny Skool member are marked so the AI app asks before running them.
Creator OS does not ship its own model. Sonnet 5.5 is one option; the hosted server works with any MCP-capable AI app, including Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf and VS Code.
How to Add the Hosted Creator OS MCP Server in Claude Sonnet 5.5
The whole setup is four screens: add the connector, sign in, choose a workspace, choose the permission level.
- Open Claude, then Settings > Connectors > Add custom connector.
- Paste
https://mcp.creatoros.ca/mcpas the URL. - Sign in to your Creator OS account when prompted.
- Pick the workspace. On agency plans each connection maps to one client workspace, so you choose one client per connection.
- Choose read only or read & write.
Each connection gets its own key. You can see them under Settings > Connected apps, which is also where you revoke one later.
If you live in a terminal instead of a settings panel, Claude Code takes the same server with a header:
claude mcp add --transport http creatoros \
https://mcp.creatoros.ca/mcp \
--header "Authorization: Bearer cos_live_..."
Cursor, Windsurf and VS Code take an mcpServers entry with type http, the same URL and the same Authorization header. The full reference lives at the MCP docs. If you want to see a working setup end to end, the walkthroughs on the KevBuildsApps YouTube channel cover it, and the launch video shows the flow too.
Connect Your Platforms: Instagram MCP for Claude, LinkedIn MCP, X MCP, and Facebook MCP in Claude
There is no separate Instagram MCP server or LinkedIn MCP server to add: the platforms attach to your Creator OS workspace, and the one connector exposes them all.
That is the part people get wrong when they search for a single platform server. You connect accounts once inside Creator OS, through the web app or with the CLI. Then Claude sees whatever that workspace holds. A platform you name in a post but have not connected comes back in missing_platforms, and the rest of the post still goes out.
| What you want | Where it is set up | What Claude gets |
|---|---|---|
| Instagram Reels, feed, carousels, Stories | Creator OS workspace, Business or Creator account | Publishing, comment replies, DMs, funnels |
| LinkedIn posts, polls, company pages | Creator OS workspace | Publishing and comment replies |
| X posts, threads, polls | Creator OS workspace | Publishing, replies, DMs |
| Facebook Page, Reels, Messenger | Creator OS workspace | Publishing, comments, DMs, funnels |
| All four in one request | the same connector | one post call, several platforms |
So the honest answer to “is there an Instagram MCP for Claude” is that the Instagram tools arrive through the Creator OS connector. You ask for a Reel and Sonnet 5.5 calls the post tool with platforms: ["instagram"]. You ask for the same caption on LinkedIn and X and it goes out with the platform list widened.
Schedule a Week of Posts in One Conversation
One conversation can produce a scheduled week, because scheduling is a field on the post tool rather than a separate product.
A prompt that works:
Draft five posts for next week, one per weekday at 9am
Toronto time. Short, plain voice, no hype. Then schedule
them to Instagram, LinkedIn and X. Show me the times first.
Sonnet 5.5 calls get_best_time_to_post if you want timing advice, drafts the copy, echoes the schedule back for a look, then calls create_post with schedule_at and timezone set. Creator OS applies each platform’s own rules, so Reels, Shorts and TikTok consent flags are handled at the platform level rather than by the model.
You can also run the same job from a terminal without a conversation:
creatoros posts:create --text "Five lessons from this week" \
--platforms instagram,linkedin,twitter \
--scheduledAt 2026-03-09T09:00:00-04:00 \
--timezone America/Toronto
Media uploads once and gets reused. upload_media_from_url returns a media id you can pass to every platform in the same post, rather than uploading the file again per network. If you also generate your own music or sound effects for those posts, the Audio Studio MCP guide pairs well with this workflow.
Two details that save confusion. check_caption_length answers the “will this fit” question before you schedule, and validate:post-length does the same from the CLI. Drafts are a flag, so you can stage a post without publishing it.
Reply to Comments and DMs Without Leaving Claude
Comment and DM work is where a conversation beats a dashboard, because the tool set lets Claude read a thread, then act on it.
Ask something like “pull the comments from the Reel I posted Tuesday, reply to the questions and hide the spam.” Sonnet 5.5 calls list_comments, reads them, calls reply_to_comment for the genuine questions and hide_comment for the rest. Comment replies work on Instagram, Facebook, X, Threads, YouTube, LinkedIn and Reddit. TikTok comment replies are not supported.
DMs work across Instagram, Facebook, X, Reddit, WhatsApp and Slack, all searchable in one inbox. Discord is the exception worth knowing: the bot can send DMs to members, but replies to those DMs are not readable.
The keyword funnel is the piece most people miss. On Instagram and Facebook you can bind an automation to a post so a keyword in a comment triggers a DM. In conversation that looks like “when anyone comments PRICE on this post, DM them the link” and Claude calls create_automation with the keywords and message. There is a worked version of this in the Instagram sales engine post, and the docs walk the pattern at comments to DM.
Can Claude MCP Pull Video and Post Analytics Across All 11 Platforms?
Yes, with one specific limit worth quoting precisely: Creator OS returns per-post analytics, daily account metrics, follower stats and best time to post across connected platforms, and the Reel watch numbers are Instagram-only because that is where Meta reports them.
The tools are get_post_analytics, get_daily_metrics, get_follower_stats and get_best_time_to_post. For Reels you also get three fields: reelsSkipRate (the share of views that swiped away in the first three seconds), igReelsAvgWatchTime and igReelsVideoViewTotalTime, both in milliseconds.
Here is the loop that makes those numbers useful. After a Reel publishes, ask Claude to read its analytics, compare the skip rate against your last few Reels, and change the next video’s opening hook or length based on what it finds. Creator OS supplies the posting and the numbers. What the agent does with them comes from your own prompt or workflow.
Trackable links close the other half. links_create makes a go.creatoros.ca short link and links_stats reads its clicks, so a conversation can connect “this Reel drove clicks” rather than just “this Reel got views.”
Common MCP Setup Errors and Fixes
Most failed setups are one of four things: wrong URL, wrong permission level, wrong workspace, or a connection you revoked and forgot about.
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Connector will not connect | URL typed with a path or typo | Use exactly https://mcp.creatoros.ca/mcp |
| Read tools only, no writes | Connection was set read only | Add a new read & write connection |
| Posts land in the wrong client | Connector bound to the wrong workspace | One connection per workspace on agency plans |
| Claude Code returns 401 | Missing or stale cos_live_ key |
Reissue under Settings > API keys |
| Some platforms skipped | Account not connected | Check missing_platforms, then connect |
Two more. If a delete or disconnect seems to hang, that is the confirmation step on a destructive tool waiting on you, not a failure. And if the CLI reports skill drift after a sync, remember that creatoros sync writes updates as .new files rather than overwriting edits you made.
For anything not covered here, start at the docs and the authentication page. The plugin path, including the publish guard that asks Proceed or Cancel before anything is published, spent or deleted, is documented at the Claude Code plugin docs.
FAQ
What is Creator OS MCP?
It is a hosted Model Context Protocol server at https://mcp.creatoros.ca/mcp that gives an AI app about 160 tools for posts, analytics, comments, DMs, automations, webhooks, Skool, Shopify, the blog and the Ads add-on. You add it as a connector and sign in. There is nothing to install and nothing to host yourself.
How do I set up Creator OS MCP in Claude Sonnet 5.5?
Open Settings > Connectors > Add custom connector, paste the server URL, sign in to Creator OS, pick the workspace and choose read only or read & write. The connection appears under Settings > Connected apps with its own key. In Claude Code, add it with claude mcp add --transport http and an Authorization header instead.
Can Claude post to Instagram and LinkedIn with MCP?
Yes. Both are posting targets in Creator OS, so a single create_post call can carry Instagram and LinkedIn in its platform list, along with TikTok, YouTube, X, Threads, Facebook, Reddit, Discord and Slack. Instagram requires a Business or Creator account. LinkedIn company pages are supported through the organization URN.
How many platforms does Creator OS MCP support?
11 platforms plus Skool: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads, Reddit, Discord, Slack and WhatsApp, with Skool communities alongside them. A WordPress blog, a Shopify store and paid ads (an add-on) are reachable too. The docs list which platforms support comment replies and which support DMs.
Why is my Claude MCP server not connecting?
Check the URL first: it must be exactly https://mcp.creatoros.ca/mcp with no trailing path. Then check the key. A revoked or stale cos_live_ key returns 401 in Claude Code, and reissuing it under Settings > API keys fixes that. If the connector works but writes do nothing, the connection was created read only.
