Flat-Vector Science flat-space
Flat-vector science-explainer illustration: deep navy-to-violet space gradients, chunky outline-free shapes with rich multi-stop gradients, flat crescent shadows and rim highlights, soft radial glows, sparkly star fields, banded ringed planets and cute big-eyed round characters.
Tech Glow Explainer tech-glow
The polished AI / tech YouTube motion-graphics look: deep navy-to-indigo space with drifting electric glows and a perspective grid, gradient-stroked icon tiles wired into node diagrams with light pulses racing along the connectors, dark cards with thin neon borders, gradient headline type and bloom on everything bright.
Papercraft Models papercraft
Printed-cardstock kit models: boxy low-poly robots, cats and charts assembled from flat printed faces with dotted fold lines, glue tabs and hairline seam gaps, Lambert-lit by a warm key light on a green self-healing cutting mat with craft tools at the edges.
Manim-Style Math math-anim
The math-explainer look of Manim, the open-source library behind 3Blue1Brown: pure black, crisp anti-aliased vector lines, a restrained palette of Manim blue, teal, yellow, red and green, LaTeX-like serif math with italic variables, axes with tick marks, curves, arrows, braces and surrounding rectangles.
Editorial Essay Collage editorial-collage
The editorial "animated essay" collage: warm grainy paper, archival halftone prints with torn white borders and soft shadows, newspaper clippings in serif type with a translucent yellow highlighter sweep, masking tape, flat colour blocks and big cut-out condensed headlines.
Product Launch Reveal product-launch
A big-tech keynote product film: one glossy hero object on a near-black stage, lit like a studio shot with soft key, rim light, a sweeping specular highlight and a floor reflection, huge tight-tracked sans headlines, gradient key numbers with a soft glow and hairline spec callouts.
Kawaii Anime kawaii
Flat 2D kawaii anime illustration: chibi characters with big glossy anime eyes and blush marks, chunky rounded shapes in strawberry-milk pink, mint, butter, lavender and sky, soft plum outlines of even weight, one cel-shadow tone and a small highlight, on polka-dot and star patterns.
Hand-Drawn
Whiteboard Explainer whiteboard
Dry-erase marker on a glossy whiteboard: streaky chisel-tip strokes with pooled edges, wobbly double-traced boxes and arrows, a ghost of the last erased lesson, and a soft ceiling-light sheen.
Chalkboard Lesson chalkboard
Dusty chalk on a green slate: grainy, broken strokes that skip over the board tooth, colored chalk accents, cloudy eraser smears from past lessons, and a worn oak frame with a dusty chalk tray.
Etch A Sketch Toy etch-sketch
The classic red line-drawing toy: glossy rounded red plastic with hard specular streaks, two white knurled knobs, and a grainy silver aluminium-powder screen where everything is one thin dark line that never lifts: crisp horizontals and verticals, stair-stepped diagonals and curves, and visible travel lines joining every letter and shape.
Engineering Blueprint blueprint
A drafted cyanotype: white line-work bleeding slightly into mottled, sun-faded Prussian-blue paper, orthographic front/side views with a hatched section, dimension chains, a zoned border, title block and worn fold creases.
Napkin Sketch napkin-sketch
A back-of-the-napkin startup pitch in black Sharpie: ink feathering into soft tissue fibers, an embossed napkin border, quarter-fold creases and crumples, a coffee ring, all lying on a warm wooden cafe table.
Ballpoint Notebook ballpoint-notebook
A blue Bic doodle in the back of a college-ruled notebook: dense crosshatching for darks, pressure-varied lines with ink blobs where strokes start, bubble lettering with a hatched drop shadow and compulsive margin doodles.
Sketchbook Graphite sketchbook-pencil
A graphite study in a spiral sketchbook: faint construction circles and axes under confident darker contours, directional hatching that breaks on the paper tooth, smudged tones, kneaded-eraser highlights and a margin note.
Painterly
Watercolor Wash watercolor
Transparent pigment glazed in dozens of ragged low-opacity layers on cold-press paper: dark pooled edges, wet-in-wet bleeds, cauliflower blooms, granulation and untouched white paper for the lights, over a faint pencil sketch.
Cathedral Glass stained-glass
A leaded Gothic window: hand-cut pieces of streaky, seedy antique glass held in thick dark came, painted grisaille details, and light blazing through into a dim stone interior with dusty rays.
Sumi-e Ink Wash sumi-e
Monochrome Japanese ink painting on fibrous rice paper: dilute grey washes that bleed and fade into mist, a few confident loaded-brush strokes that split into dry bristle tracks, vast negative space, a vertical calligraphy column and a vermilion seal.
Impasto Night impasto-oil
Thick oil paint in short loaded strokes that follow a swirling flow field, Post-Impressionist night-sky style; every stroke stands off the canvas with a lit ridge and a shadowed edge, colour broken within each stroke.
Gouache Travel Poster gouache-poster
Mid-century travel poster hand-painted in gouache: six flat, opaque, matte colours stacked in receding layers, dry-brush streaks where the paint thins at each edge, and a bold hand-lettered block.
Pointillist Afternoon pointillism
Neo-Impressionist divisionism: every form is built from small dabs of unmixed pigment — complementary hues side by side that blend optically — with the canvas weave peeking between the dots and a dotted painted border.
Halftone Pop Panel halftone-pop
A Lichtenstein-style blown-up comic panel: fat tapering black brush outlines, mechanical Ben-Day dot fields in red and blue, flat primary yellow, a tearful close-up and hand-lettered balloon.

Vintage Newsprint newsprint
A 1950s broadsheet front page: blackletter masthead, condensed banner headline, dense justified greeked columns and a coarse halftone wire photo, printed in thin uneven ink on yellowed pulp with show-through from the reverse.
Silkscreen Grid screenprint-grid
A Warhol-style repeat portrait: the same robot pulled eight times through a grainy black photo screen over loose, hand-cut flat colour plates in garish combinations, each pull misregistered and streaked by the squeegee.

Light & Imaging
1940s Film Noir film-noir
A high-contrast black-and-white still from a forties detective picture: venetian-blind light slicing across a fedora silhouette, a glowing terminal as the only other light, cigarette smoke hanging in the beams, with heavy nitrate grain, gate weave, dust and scratches.
Bioluminescent Deep Sea deep-sea
The midnight zone: near-black water with parallax marine snow, and nothing lit but living light — a jellyfish whose nerve net glows like a neural network, a siphonophore chain, a rainbow-rippling comb jelly and an anglerfish lure. Additive cyan, teal and electric-blue glow with magenta and amber accents; type is bioluminescent.
Neon Sign at Night neon-sign
Hand-bent glass neon on an old brick wall after rain: white-hot tube cores, saturated colour halos, painted-out blockout tube, clips and electrodes, light spilling across the brickwork and smearing in the wet pavement.

Multi-scale Truchet truchet
Bold two-ink multi-scale Truchet tiling of winged quarter-circle tiles whose paths flow continuously across three scales; a third ink fills only the closed regions that fall inside the letters "AI", so the word surfaces from the maze.
Cosmic & Psychedelic

New styles from research
When Reverse engineer marketing finds a winning edit none of these match, it writes a new style: a recipe of structure, pacing, shots, text and captions, color and grade, audio and transitions, plus the closest built-in template. It's saved to your workspace (custom_styles in GET /v1/editing-styles), shown on the plan and reused by later runs.
