Claude SEO agents are a set of subagents that run keyword research, write and upload WordPress posts, then measure results and feed them back into the next round. Kevin built an open-source kit called SEO Agent Kit that spins up three subagents, Scout, Publish and Measure and Improve, and runs them as one looping workflow. What Are Claude SEO Agents?
Claude SEO agents are subagents that split one SEO job into three roles and hand results from each role to the next. In the SEO Agent Kit, the skill loads into Claude Code and starts Scout, Publish, and Measure and Improve. You can watch the full walkthrough on the KevBuildsApps YouTube channel.
The kit is Kevin’s own open-source project. It is not a Creator OS feature. It is a set of Claude Code skills that you run locally, and it works on the two systems SEO actually lives in: Google Search Console and your WordPress site. What makes it useful is not any single step. It is that the output of the measurement step becomes the input of the research step.
If you have read the SEO Agent Kit breakdown, this post goes one level deeper into how the three subagents divide the work.
How the SEO Agent Skill Spins Up 3 Subagents
The skill is the entry point. You load it into Claude, it reads your brief, and it delegates three jobs instead of trying to do everything in one long context.
That split matters for a practical reason. Keyword research produces a lot of noisy data. Writing produces long text. Measurement produces numbers that arrive a week later. Running all three in one conversation means the writer is still carrying around a pile of Search Console rows it does not need. Three subagents keep each job clean and pass a short handoff between them.
| Subagent | Reads | Produces | Hands off to |
|---|---|---|---|
| SEO Scout | Search Console data, top ranking pages | Target keyword and angle | SEO Publish |
| SEO Publish | Keyword, outline, brand notes | Published WordPress post | SEO Measure and Improve |
| SEO Measure and Improve | Traffic and organic reach per post | What worked, what to change | SEO Scout |
The handoff is the whole design. Each subagent gets one job, one input, and one output.
SEO Scout: Pulling Google Search Console Data and Studying #1 Rankings
Scout answers one question: which keyword should the next post target? It pulls Google Search Console API data, finds your best search terms, and studies which blogs rank number one on Google and on AI search engines.
That second half is the part most keyword tools skip. A keyword volume number tells you people search for a phrase. It does not tell you what kind of page wins that phrase. Scout reads the pages currently holding position one and looks at their shape: how they are structured, what they cover, how long they are. Then it writes a brief for a page that can compete, not a page that repeats what already exists.
A worked example of the handoff:
Scout output:
target keyword: "schedule instagram posts with claude"
current #1 shape: step list + command examples
gap: no working commands shown
brief: 1200 words, show real CLI calls, link docs
Scout does not guess whether that phrase is worth targeting. It reads your own Search Console data first, so it prefers terms where you already get impressions but rank below the top results. That is the cheapest traffic you can win.
SEO Publish: Writing and Uploading Posts Straight to WordPress
Publish takes the brief and turns it into a post on your site. It writes the article for that keyword and uploads it straight to your WordPress API.
Two details make this safer than it sounds. First, the post goes through the WordPress API rather than a browser session, so the upload is a clean create call with a title, body, slug, and meta description. Second, Creator OS connects to WordPress the same way. When you connect a WordPress site in Creator OS, whether WordPress.com or self-hosted on your own domain, the AI writes the SEO article and saves it as a draft by default unless you tell it to publish. That draft default is worth keeping while you tune the writing.

SEO Measure and Improve: The Self-Improving Feedback Loop
This step is what separates a loop from a one-time content push. Measure and Improve tracks which posts drove website visitors and organic reach, then feeds that back to improve the engine.
Concretely, after a post has been live long enough to collect data, the subagent compares posts against each other. Which angles earned clicks. Which titles got impressions but no clicks. Which pieces picked up links or AI search citations. That summary goes back to Scout as guidance for the next brief. Over a few cycles, the system stops producing generic posts and starts producing posts shaped like the ones that already work for you.
Note what this loop needs to function: real performance data. If nothing is published and nothing is measured, the loop has nothing to learn from. Start it, let it run, and give it a month before judging it.
How to Set It Up in Claude Code in 2026
Setup is small: you need a Claude Code session, access to Google Search Console, and a WordPress site whose API you can reach.
- Clone the kit from github.com/kevinbadi/seo-agent-kit and read its README for the exact setup steps it describes.
- Give the session Search Console access for the property you want to grow.
- Give it WordPress API access for the site you publish to.
- Load the SEO agent skill and let it start Scout.
- Review the first brief, let Publish draft the post, and read it before it goes live.
The kit’s README is the source of truth for install steps and flags. Use it rather than any summary, including this one.
If you want the publishing side handled by a hosted service instead of local WordPress calls, Creator OS runs a hosted MCP server and a CLI, and its blog tools write to WordPress and Shopify store blogs. See the blog API docs for the shape of those calls.
Can AI Agents Really Do SEO for You? What Works and What Doesn’t
Partly. Agents are strong at the mechanical parts of SEO and weak at the judgment parts, and knowing which is which saves you a lot of disappointment.
What works:
- Reading Search Console data and ranking opportunities by realistic upside.
- Studying the pages that already rank and writing a brief against them.
- Producing a clean first draft with correct structure and metadata.
- Uploading through an API without copy-paste errors.
- Comparing published posts against each other and summarizing the pattern.
What still needs you:
- Deciding what your business should be known for.
- Checking claims, numbers, and anything factual before it ships.
- Deciding whether a post represents your brand well enough to publish.
One more thing to watch: an agent that writes and publishes unsupervised will eventually publish something wrong. Keep a review step in the loop for as long as you care about the site. Creator OS handles this by defaulting AI written articles to draft on both WordPress and Shopify blogs, which is a reasonable pattern to copy in your own kit.
Claude SEO Agents FAQ
What are the best AI agents for SEO?
The best fit depends on whether you want a local harness or a hosted service. SEO Agent Kit is Kevin’s open-source Claude Code kit with three subagents: Scout for Search Console research, Publish for WordPress uploads, and Measure and Improve for the feedback loop. Creator OS is the hosted option: it runs a hosted MCP server with about 160 tools and a CLI, and its blog tools write SEO articles to WordPress and Shopify store blogs.
How do Claude SEO agents pull Google Search Console data?
SEO Scout calls the Google Search Console API from your Claude Code session using credentials you provide. It reads your queries, impressions and positions, then picks terms where you already appear but rank below the top results. That keeps the next post aimed at traffic you can realistically win rather than a phrase you have no history with.
Can an AI agent write and publish SEO posts to WordPress automatically?
Yes, through the WordPress API. SEO Publish writes the article and uploads it straight to your site. Creator OS takes the same approach: connect a WordPress site, WordPress.com or self-hosted on your own domain, and the AI writes the SEO article as a draft by default unless you set publish.
Do I need claude skills to run an SEO agent?
You need a way to give Claude a repeatable procedure, and a skill is the format SEO Agent Kit uses. Claude Code loads skills, and Creator OS also ships its own: npx @creatoros/cli@latest init installs 14 Claude Code skills covering posts, threads, scheduling, comments, DMs, automations, analytics, ads, Skool and the blog. Run creatoros sync to pull updated skills without overwriting files you edited.
How is this different from social agents for Claude?
Social Agents is a separate open-source harness from Kevin that runs your social accounts on Creator OS: it interviews you about your brand, then posts, replies to comments and DMs, runs automations and reports, with a local dashboard. SEO Agent Kit targets search: it researches keywords, publishes to WordPress, and measures organic traffic. Same author, different surface. See the Social Agents repo post.
