If you are shopping for the best MCP servers for marketers, the short version is this: an MCP server turns your AI app into something that can actually touch your accounts instead of just talking about them. Creator OS ships a hosted MCP server at https://mcp.creatoros.ca/mcp so Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf and VS Code can publish, schedule, reply, read analytics and run paid ads. This post walks through the categories worth evaluating, shows what Creator OS does inside each one, and points you at the docs for the rest.

What an MCP Server Actually Does for a Marketer
Model Context Protocol is a standard way for an AI app to call tools that live outside the chat window. Without it, you paste a caption into Claude, copy the result, open a scheduling dashboard, paste again, set a time, upload the file, and repeat for every network. With it, the model calls something like create_post and the work happens on the platform.
Two details separate a demo from something you can run a business on.
Scope. Creator OS API keys and MCP connections are pinned to one workspace, which is one set of socials. An agent holding one workspace key cannot post to another. That matters when you run several brands and hand an AI agent access to only one of them.
Read versus write. When you add the Creator OS connector you choose read only or read and write. Read-only connections only see read tools, and the API refuses writes from them. Destructive tools like delete post, delete comment, disconnect account or delete ad are marked so the AI app asks before running them.
For the deeper version of this, see the writeup on MCP server stability for AI social tools.
How We Picked the Best MCP Servers for Marketers
Three filters, applied in order.
- Does it do the job end to end? A server that drafts a caption is a writing assistant. A server that uploads the media, applies each platform’s rules, schedules it and then reads back the metrics is a publishing system.
- How much setup? A hosted URL you paste into a connector beats a local process you babysit. Creator OS is hosted, so there is nothing to install.
- Can it be automated later? A server worth adopting today should be callable from a CLI and from a scheduled agent tomorrow.
I applied those filters to the categories below and wrote only about what Creator OS actually exposes. Everything else links to the docs.
Best MCP Servers for Social Media Posting and Scheduling
This is the highest-value category for most marketing teams, because it is where the copy-paste tax is worst.
The Creator OS server exposes create_post, update_post, upload_media_from_url, list_posts, get_post and get_best_time_to_post. You can connect it anywhere MCP runs:
- Claude: Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector, paste the URL, sign in to Creator OS, pick the workspace, choose read only or read and write.
- ChatGPT: add the same URL as a connector in developer mode.
- Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http creatoros https://mcp.creatoros.ca/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer cos_live_..." - Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code: an
mcpServersentry with type http, the URL and the Authorization header.
A worked example. You ask your AI app: “Take this video, post it as a Reel on Instagram, a Short on YouTube and a TikTok, same caption, and schedule all three for next Tuesday at 9am my time.” The model calls upload_media_from_url once, gets a reusable media id, then calls create_post with the media id and the schedule. Creator OS applies each platform’s rules on the way out: vertical short video on YouTube becomes a Short automatically, and TikTok’s required consent flags are filled for you.
If you want the multi-network version in more detail, read posting to Instagram and TikTok at once and the social media MCP server overview. For the editor side, see Windsurf MCP setup for social posting.
The CLI does the same work from a terminal when you want it scripted:
creatoros posts:create \
--text "New build is live. Link in first comment." \
--platforms instagram,youtube,tiktok \
--media med_8f2a1c \
--scheduledAt 2025-06-10T09:00:00-04:00 \
--timezone America/Toronto
Note the first comment habit. Instagram captions have no clickable links, so Creator OS supports firstComment for the link. On YouTube the first comment is posted and pinned, up to 10,000 characters.
Best MCP Servers for Paid Ads and Campaign Management
Ads is a separate add-on at $19.99/month on any plan, with no percentage of ad spend. Ad spend is billed by each network to your own ad account, so your money never routes through Creator OS.
MCP tools here include ads_create_ad, ads_boost_post and ads_best_posts. Networks covered are Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google, TikTok, LinkedIn, X and ChatGPT (OpenAI). Every create can be dry run, budgets are confirmed, and ads are created paused for review. That last part is the safe pattern: the agent builds the campaign, you look at it, then you turn it on.
A prompt that works well: “Look at my last 30 days of posts, find the three with the best engagement relative to reach, and draft a $30/day boost for each on Meta. Pause them and show me the plan before anything goes live.” The model calls get_post_analytics and ads_best_posts, then ads_boost_post.
LinkedIn is the one to read up on. Sponsored posts come from a Company Page with image or video, the minimum is $10/day, there is no native dry run, and LinkedIn reviews every ad. Details are in the LinkedIn ads MCP post and in the ads docs. Meta-specific notes live at the Meta ads docs.
Best MCP Servers for Content, Video and Creative Production
Creative is where most marketing MCP setups fall down, because the model can write but cannot render.
Creator OS handles the blog side directly. Connect a WordPress site, WordPress.com or self-hosted on your own domain, and a blog_create_article call writes and drafts an SEO article. Drafts are the default unless publish is set, which is the right default for a brand blog.
For video, two open-source projects are worth your afternoon:
- Social Agents (github.com/kevinbadi/social-agents) is an agent harness that runs your socials on Creator OS. Start with
npm start creatoros social-agents. It interviews you about your brand, then posts, replies to comments and DMs, runs automations and reports, with a local dashboard. Bring your own model: logged-in Claude Code, an Anthropic API key, or any Anthropic-compatible API. - OPEN VIDEO EDIT (github.com/kevinbadi/open-edits) turns a raw talking-head clip into an animated short with captions, logos, faces, GIFs, b-roll cards and counters. It renders locally with Python and ffmpeg. Skills include
split-animated-talking-head,fireship-style-editandreverse-engineer.
Kevin walks through both on the KevBuildsApps YouTube channel, and the launch video is at youtu.be/-QBJH_PK3pY. There is also a written take on MCP video editing.
Best MCP Servers for Analytics, Research and Reporting
Read tools are the ones you will use every Monday morning. In Creator OS they are get_post_analytics, get_daily_metrics, get_follower_stats and get_best_time_to_post, plus links_stats for trackable go.creatoros.ca short links.
A reporting prompt: “Pull daily metrics for the last 14 days across every connected account, list follower growth per platform, and tell me which single post drove the most clicks on my short links.” That is three tool calls and a table, no dashboard export.
From the CLI, the same numbers:
creatoros analytics:daily --from 2025-05-27 --to 2025-06-09
creatoros analytics:best-time --platform tiktok
creatoros accounts:follower-stats --granularity weekly
If your audience lives in a community, the Skool side is unusual and worth knowing about: skool_revenue, skool_multi_post and skool_find_posts let an agent read MRR, 30-day growth and engagement, and post to several communities at once. See the Skool docs.
Best MCP Servers for Workflow, Memory and App Building
Two categories that are easy to underestimate.
Workflow. Reply and inbox tools turn MCP from a publishing pipe into a community system. list_comments, reply_to_comment, hide_comment, list_conversations and send_message cover Instagram, Facebook, X, Threads, YouTube and LinkedIn for comment replies, and Instagram, Facebook and X for DMs. TikTok comment replies are not supported, and there are no TikTok DMs, so plan around that. Comment-to-DM keyword funnels run on Instagram and Facebook. create_automation builds the keyword rules.
Memory and app building. Long-running agent work needs state and a place to put results. Memory-focused MCP tooling is covered in MCP server apps and memory tools, and if your marketing team ships an app alongside the brand, App Store Connect via MCP is the relevant read.
Common Setup Mistakes and How to Avoid Them
Giving an agent write access on day one. Start read only. Watch what the model does with your data before it can publish.
Assuming one key covers everything. A Creator OS key is pinned to one workspace, and an agent holding it cannot post to another. If you manage five clients, that is five connections, and that is a feature.
Forgetting the platforms that are not connected. When you name a network that is not connected, the response comes back with missing_platforms and the rest still go out. Check that field rather than assuming a full send.
Ignoring media rules. Upload once with upload_media_from_url or POST /v1/media and reuse the returned id. Creator OS applies each platform’s rules from there. One thing it cannot do is attach trending audio to Instagram, so bake the sound into the file.
Letting errors look like mystery failures. The API uses one error shape, { error: { code, message, status } }, and ids are typed tokens like acc_, post_, cmt_, conv_, msg_, auto_ and med_. Read the prefix and you know what you are holding.
Skipping length checks. Run creatoros validate:post-length --text "..." before a big batch. Threads caps at 500 characters per post, X standard accounts cap video at about 2 minutes 20 seconds, and TikTok photo descriptions run to 4,000 characters. Different limits, one check.
Get Started With MCP Servers in Creator OS
The Creator plan is $14.99/month or $59.99/year and covers 11 platforms plus Skool, one account on each. API keys, the MCP server, the CLI and the agent skills are included in every plan, including that one. Agency plans cover 5 sets of socials (5 client workspaces, 11 platforms plus Skool for each) for $49.99/month or $399/year, and 10 sets (10 client workspaces) for $99/month or $599/year. YouTube network plans are $19.99/month for 5 channels and $29.99/month for 10.
Sign up at creatoros.ca/sign-up, then add https://mcp.creatoros.ca/mcp as a connector. If you want the agent skills too, run:
npx @creatoros/cli@latest init
That installs 14 Claude Code skills, including post-everywhere, respond-to-comments, analytics and meta-campaign-builder. Later, creatoros sync updates them without overwriting files you have edited. Updates land as .new files.
Read the setup detail at the MCP docs, the per-platform options at post options, the command reference at the CLI docs, and the base URL for the REST API at creatoros.ca/docs. Then watch the walkthroughs on KevBuildsApps and connect your first workspace.
