Two ways in
Claude connector vs API key: what is the difference?
Both reach the same Creator OS account with the same tools. The connector is for the Claude app; the API key is for Claude Code and other developer tools.
| Capability | Claude connector | API key (Claude Code) |
|---|---|---|
| Where you add it | Claude settings, Connectors | Your terminal (claude mcp add) |
| Setup | Paste one URL, sign in | One command with your API key |
| Sign-in | Creator OS login (OAuth) | Workspace API key in a header |
| Pick the workspace | Yes, when you connect | The key decides it |
| Read-only option | Yes, choose it when you connect | Use a read-only key |
| Publish, schedule, draft | Yes | Yes |
| Analytics, comments and DMs | Yes | Yes |
| Comment-to-DM funnels | Yes | Yes |
| Web, desktop and mobile | Yes | Terminal only |
Recommendation: start with the connector in Claude. Reach for an API key when you automate from a terminal.

What is the Creator OS MCP?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is how Claude talks to other apps. Our MCP server gives Claude your Creator OS accounts as tools it can call.
How Claude uses Creator OS
- 1You add the Creator OS connector (or the MCP link) in Claude
- 2Claude discovers your connected accounts and each platform’s limits
- 3It writes each post in the right format for every platform
- 4It schedules, drafts or publishes, exactly as you asked
- 5It works alongside Claude’s other tools and connectors

The connector is free with any Creator OS plan. Plans start at $19.99 a month for creators, with agency plans for 5 or 10 client workspaces.

You sign in with Creator OS (OAuth), so Claude never sees a password. Each connection gets its own key limited to one workspace. Disconnect it any time in Settings, under Connected apps.
Something not working?
- No accounts showing? Connect your socials in Creator OS first, or ask Claude for a connect link.
- Wrong client? Disconnect and reconnect, then pick the right workspace.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How do I connect Creator OS to Claude?
Click Add to Claude, or open Claude settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector and paste https://mcp.creatoros.ca/mcp. Sign in with your Creator OS account, pick a workspace and an access level, and you are done.
What can Claude do with Creator OS?
Publish, schedule and draft posts, read your calendar and analytics, check follower growth and your best time to post, read and reply to comments and DMs, and manage comment-to-DM automations. Around 30 tools in total.
Do I need an API key?
Not in the Claude app. You sign in with your Creator OS account instead. API keys are for tools that take a header, like Claude Code, Cursor or your own scripts.
Is Claude the same as Claude Code?
No. This page is about Claude, the chat app on web, desktop and mobile. Claude Code runs in your terminal and connects with an API key; the command is further up this page.
Which platforms can Claude post to?
Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Facebook and Threads: whichever accounts you have connected in the workspace you picked.
I run an agency. Can Claude post for my clients?
Yes. Each connection is tied to one workspace, so connect once per client and Claude only ever sees that client. Agency plans cover 5 or 10 client workspaces.
Is it safe to let Claude post to my social accounts?
You choose the access level for each connection. Read only lets Claude look without changing anything, and destructive actions like deleting a post are marked so Claude asks you before running them. You can disconnect any time.
Can Claude post automatically on a schedule?
Yes. Ask Claude to schedule posts for a date and time and Creator OS publishes them then, even when Claude is closed.
Is it free to use Creator OS with Claude?
The connector itself is free. You need a Creator OS plan, which starts at $19.99 a month, and a Claude plan that supports connectors.
