If you searched for creationos and ended up here wondering what it actually is, this post answers that in plain terms. CreationOS is the shorthand creators use for Creator OS, the platform at creatoros.ca. It puts your publishing, scheduling, replies and analytics for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Facebook and Threads in one place, plus Skool communities, a WordPress blog and paid ads as an add-on. You can drive it from the web app, the iOS app, a REST API, a CLI and a hosted MCP server that works with Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf and VS Code.

What Is CreationOS?

CreationOS is the name people type when they forget the exact spelling. The product is Creator OS, and the site is creatoros.ca. Treat the two as the same thing for the rest of this article.

The short version: you connect the accounts you already own, and Creator OS becomes the single place you publish from, read comments from and pull numbers from. Post once and it handles each network’s rules. A vertical clip becomes a Short on YouTube, a Reel on Instagram and a TikTok video. A caption that runs long gets flagged before it goes out.

The part that makes it different from a scheduling dashboard is that everything the web app can do is also exposed to tools. There is a CLI you run in a terminal. There is a REST API keyed with a cos_live_... token. And there is a hosted MCP server at https://mcp.creatoros.ca/mcp with nothing to install, so an AI app can post, reply and read analytics on your behalf.

CreationOS vs Creator OS: Clearing Up the Name

There is no second product. CreationOS is not a competing app, a rebrand in progress or a different tier. People run the letters together, search engines see a slightly different string, and you land on pages like this one.

What you should know is what the name gets you:

  • A single workspace tied to one set of socials. The Creator plan is $14.99/month or $59.99/year and covers 11 platforms plus Skool, one account on each.
  • API keys, the MCP server, the CLI and the agent skills on every plan, not an upgrade.
  • Agency plans at $49.99/month (5 sets, 11 platforms plus Skool each) or $99/month (10 sets). Annual options are $399 and $599.

So when someone says “CreationOS,” they mean the same account you sign into at creatoros.ca. Nothing extra to buy.

Who CreationOS Is For

Three groups get the most out of it.

Creators who publish on several networks at once. If your week includes a TikTok, a Reel and a YouTube Short of the same clip, you already know how much time dies in re-uploading. Creator OS takes one media upload and reuses it. The API returns a med_ id you can pass to every platform on the same post.

People running a community as well as a feed. Skool is part of the same product. You can post to several communities at once, read members by status, check MRR and 30-day growth, approve join requests and email every member. That lives next to your Instagram inbox instead of in a separate tab.

Builders who want their agent to handle the boring parts. If you already work inside Claude Code or Codex, you can hand the publishing and reply loop to the agent and keep your hands on the creative side. The Codex walkthrough shows what that looks like end to end.

The Core Workflow: Ideate, Create, Repurpose, Ship

Here is the loop, with a concrete example. Say you record a 40 minute webinar and want to turn it into a week of posts.

1. Ideate

You do this wherever you already think: a notes app, a chat with Claude, a whiteboard. Creator OS is not an idea generator. It is where the idea becomes a published post.

2. Create

Record the webinar. Cut the talking head segments into vertical clips. For the editing pass, the open source OPEN VIDEO EDIT skills turn a raw clip into an animated short with captions, logos and b-roll cards, rendered locally with Python and ffmpeg. The webinar to Shorts guide walks through that cut in detail. You can also watch the launch video for the short version.

3. Repurpose

Upload the clip once with the CLI:

creatoros media:upload reel-final.mp4

That returns a med_ id. Use it on every post you schedule from that clip. Same file, every network, no re-uploads.

4. Ship

Schedule the same clip across the networks in one call:

creatoros posts:create \
--text "The 3 mistakes I made building my first community" \
  --platforms instagram,tiktok,youtube \
  --media med_abc123 \
  --scheduledAt 2026-04-14T09:00:00Z \
  --timezone America/Toronto

Creator OS applies each network’s own rules: vertical video becomes a YouTube Short, the Instagram side gets Reel treatment, the TikTok side gets the consent flags the simple form fills in for you. If one of those platforms was not connected, the post still goes out to the rest and the missing ones come back in missing_platforms.

If you have a caption that runs long, you can check it before you commit:

creatoros validate:post-length --text "your caption here"

And if you are not ready to post yet, add --draft and it sits in the workspace until you are.

What CreationOS Does Under the Hood

Four surfaces, one workspace. Every action lands in the same place no matter which one you use.

The MCP server. It lives at https://mcp.creatoros.ca/mcp and is hosted, so there is nothing to install. In Claude you go to Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector, paste the URL, sign in to Creator OS, pick the workspace, and choose read only or read and write. Read only connections see read tools only, and the API refuses writes from them. Destructive tools like delete post, delete comment, disconnect account and delete ad are marked so the AI app asks first.

The CLI. Install with npx @creatoros/cli@latest init. That also installs 14 Claude Code skills, including post-everywhere, respond-to-comments, analytics, ads and skool. Later you run creatoros sync to pull updates. Edited skill files are not overwritten. Updates land as .new files so you can merge them yourself.

The REST API. A cos_live_... key is pinned to one workspace. An agent holding one workspace’s key cannot post to another. Ids are typed tokens: acc_, post_, cmt_, conv_, msg_, auto_, med_. Errors share one shape, { error: { code, message, status } }. Webhooks fire on things like post.published and comment.received, signed with X-CreatorOS-Signature. The base URL and request shapes are in the docs.

The open source Social Agents harness. Social Agents lives at github.com/kevinbadi/social-agents. Start it with npm start creatoros social-agents. It interviews you about your brand, then posts, replies to comments and DMs, runs automations and reports back on a local dashboard. Bring your own model: a logged-in Claude Code session, an ANTHROPIC_API_KEY, or any Anthropic-compatible API. The open source agent walkthrough covers it.

One workspace also means one analytics view. Per post analytics, daily metrics, follower stats and best time to post all sit across every connected platform. You can query them from a terminal:

creatoros analytics:best-time --platform instagram
creatoros analytics:posts --sortBy engagement --limit 10

That answer can come back into the next scheduling decision without you opening a dashboard.

How CreationOS Fits Alongside Claude and Codex

You do not have to leave your AI app to use Creator OS. That is the point of the MCP server. Once the connector is set up, you talk to Claude about a clip, and the same conversation can call create_post, upload_media_from_url or get_best_time_to_post without copy-pasting anything.

On the Codex side you add the same server URL as a connector, then work in your coding agent the way you normally do. The Codex post shows the pattern; the repurposing agent guide shows the Claude Code version. For Claude Code the one-liner is:

claude mcp add --transport http creatoros https://mcp.creatoros.ca/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer cos_live_..."

Cursor, Windsurf and VS Code use the same URL in an mcpServers entry with type http and the Authorization header. There is a dedicated page for each route at creatoros.ca/claude and creatoros.ca/docs/mcp.

What this means in practice: your agent can write the caption, check its length with check_caption_length, upload the media, schedule it, and then read the comments and reply to the top ones when they land. The work that used to be five tabs of tab switching becomes one request your AI app already knows how to make.

Common Questions About CreationOS

Is CreationOS free?

No free tier is listed. The Creator plan is $14.99/month or $59.99/year and includes API keys, the MCP server, the CLI and the skills.

Do I need to install anything to use the MCP server?

No. It is hosted. You add the URL as a connector in Claude, ChatGPT (developer mode), Cursor, Windsurf or VS Code, or run one command in Claude Code.

Will it post the same thing everywhere?

Yes, with each network’s rules applied. A vertical video becomes a Short on YouTube and a Reel on Instagram. TikTok gets its required settings filled in. Platforms that are not connected are skipped and named in missing_platforms, and the rest still publish.

Does Creator OS have its own AI model?

No. It works with any MCP-capable AI app and does not ship a model. Your chosen app handles the reasoning.

Can I bring a whole content calendar at once?

Yes. creatoros posts:bulk-upload --file calendar.json --dryRun validates a batch before anything ships. Run it again without --dryRun to send it.
