OS Creator (Creator OS) is a publishing and automation platform at creatoros.ca. It connects 11 social platforms plus Skool, a WordPress or Shopify blog, a Shopify catalog and paid ads, and you drive it from a web app, an iOS app, a REST API, a CLI and a hosted MCP server that AI apps like Claude and ChatGPT can call. Plans start at $14.99/month.

What is OS Creator and what does it actually do?

OS Creator is the short search term for Creator OS: one account that publishes, schedules, replies and reads analytics across your socials, your community and your store.

The web app is the friendliest surface. The iOS app covers the same accounts on your phone. Underneath both sits a REST API, and on top of that sit three things most schedulers don’t ship: a command line tool (@creatoros/cli), a Claude Code plugin, and a hosted MCP server at https://mcp.creatoros.ca/mcp. That last one matters. An AI app connects to it, sees about 160 tools covering posts, comments, DMs, automations, webhooks, Skool, the blog and ads, and can act on your accounts without you writing code.

The platforms are Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads, Reddit, Discord, Slack and WhatsApp, plus Skool communities, a WordPress blog or Shopify store blog, a Shopify catalog and an ads add-on. Each connected set of socials is a workspace, and an API key is pinned to one workspace, so an agent working on a client’s accounts cannot reach another client’s.

How does OS Creator turn one idea into multi-platform posts?

You write the caption once and name the platforms; Creator OS applies each platform’s own rules so you don’t hand-tune every field.

From the terminal it looks like this:

creatoros posts:create \
--text "We shipped Trial Reels support today. Here is how it works." \
  --platforms instagram,tiktok,youtube,x \
  --media ./reel.mp4 \
  --scheduledAt 2026-03-04T17:00:00Z --timezone America/Toronto

One command, four accounts, one scheduled time. Check the caption length against every limit first with creatoros validate:post-length --text "...", and upload the file once with creatoros media:upload ./reel.mp4 to get a reusable med_ id you pass to --media.

The rules differ by platform and Creator OS handles the parts people forget. A vertical short video sent to YouTube becomes a Short. A TikTok post needs its consent flags, and the simple post form fills them. A Reddit post takes a subreddit and a permanent title, and flair matters. If you name a platform that isn’t connected, it comes back in missing_platforms and the rest still publish.

What you control Where it goes What Creator OS does
Caption text Every platform Length checks per network
Media Every platform One upload, reusable id
Schedule Every platform Applies your timezone
Thread items X, Threads Builds the thread in order
First comment Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Threads, Facebook Posts it, pins it where the network allows

For a longer calendar, creatoros posts:bulk-upload --file calendar.json --dryRun validates a whole schedule before anything goes out.

What can you automate with OS Creator in 2026?

Automation in Creator OS is mostly about what happens after a post, which is where manual work usually piles up.

Comment replies work on Instagram, Facebook, X, Threads, YouTube, LinkedIn and Reddit. DMs work on Instagram, Facebook, X, Reddit and WhatsApp, plus Slack DMs to the bot and messages that @mention it. All of it lands in one searchable inbox. The keyword funnel is the standout: someone comments a word, Creator OS replies publicly and sends them a DM.

creatoros automations:create \
  --name "guide-funnel" \
  --accountId acc_123 \
  --postId post_456 \
  --keywords "guide,link,where" \
  --matchMode word \
--dmMessage "Here is the guide: https://go.creatoros.ca/guide" \
--commentReply "Sent it to your DMs."

That works on Instagram and Facebook. It even works on Instagram Trial Reels, which is a detail worth knowing: Trial Reel commenters are non-followers, so the DM arrives as a message request rather than a normal inbox message. Plan for that.

Other automations include scheduling a post to several Skool communities at once, running a comment funnel per post, and pushing events out through webhooks signed with X-CreatorOS-Signature. If you’d rather an agent ran the whole loop, Social Agents is an open source harness you start with npm start creatoros social-agents; it interviews you about your brand, then posts, replies, runs automations and reports from a local dashboard. See the Discord and Slack automation walkthrough for the messaging side.

Can OS Creator edit video and generate motion graphics too?

Creator OS publishes video and reads its numbers; the editing happens in the open source skills that ship alongside it.

On the analytics side, creatoros analytics:posts returns Instagram Reel watch stats: reelsSkipRate as a percentage of views where someone swiped away in the first three seconds, plus average watch time and total view time in milliseconds. An agent can read those after publishing and change the next video’s hook, length or topic. Creator OS gives you the posting and the numbers. What your agent does with them is up to its own prompt.

On the editing side, OPEN VIDEO EDIT (github.com/kevinbadi/open-edits) is a set of open source Claude Code skills that turn a raw talking-head clip into an animated short with captions, logos, faces, GIFs, b-roll cards and counters. It renders locally with Python and ffmpeg. The skills are split-animated-talking-head, longform-animated-talking-head, fireship-style-edit, fireship-style-short, split-animated-short and reverse-engineer. Pair that with Creator OS posting and you have a loop from raw clip to published short with numbers. Watch the walkthroughs on the KevBuildsApps YouTube channel or start with the launch video.

How does OS Creator compare to scheduling tools like Buffer?

Buffer and similar tools are social media scheduling dashboards: you plan posts in a calendar and they publish them. That model works. Creator OS differs in what sits around the calendar.

It ships a hosted MCP server and a CLI so an AI agent can run your accounts directly, plus a Claude Code plugin that adds campaign builder skills and a publish guard that asks Proceed or Cancel before anything is published, spent or deleted. It treats Skool communities, a WordPress or Shopify blog and a Shopify catalog as first class objects in the same workspace as your socials. And it covers Reddit, Discord, Slack and WhatsApp with real controls: subreddit rules and flairs, Discord roles and threads, Slack threads, WhatsApp templates and broadcasts.

The practical difference is who does the work. A scheduling dashboard waits for you. A Creator OS workspace can be handed to an agent that lists comments, replies, and checks watch time. Read the agency walkthrough if you run several client sets from one login.

Is OS Creator free to try and what does it cost?

You start for $0 on a free trial and cancel anytime; after that the Creator plan is $14.99/month or $59.99/year, about $5/month.

Plan What you get Price
Creator Premium One set of socials: 11 platforms plus Skool, one account each, iOS app included $14.99/month or $59.99/year
Agency 5 5 client workspaces, unlimited posts and team members $49.99/month or $399/year
Agency 10 10 client workspaces $99/month or $599/year
YouTube network 5 channels for $19.99/month, 10 for $29.99/month Monthly only
Ads add-on Any plan, no percentage of ad spend $19.99/month

The API keys, the MCP server, the CLI and the agent skills are included on every plan. That’s the part worth repeating: you don’t pay extra to automate.

Connecting accounts is the slow part and it’s per platform: creatoros accounts:connect instagram and so on, then creatoros accounts:health to confirm each one.
