Explainer Video Content Calendar: 30 Days From One Style (2026)

Turn one Atlas explainer style into a 30-day content calendar: pick the style, cut 20+ variants, and schedule across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn in Creat

Creator OS · November 2, 2026 · 9 min read

An explainer video content calendar starts with one Atlas motion style, not one video. Pick a single style, cut it into 30 reusable slots across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn, then send the whole month in one API request or one CLI command. You build the style once and schedule the month in about an hour.

From one explainer style to a scheduled 30-day calendar.

What Is an Explainer Video Content Calendar?

An explainer video content calendar is a month of scheduled posts built from one visual style, where each slot is a different short explainer rather than a different look and feel.

The usual approach is one animation style per video, rebuilt every time. That is slow and it makes the month look inconsistent. The other approach is one style, many scripts. You lock the motion language, transitions, type treatment and color logic once, then reuse it for every topic you want to explain. That gives you consistency for free and removes the design work from every post.

The calendar lives in Creator OS, which is one place to publish, schedule and read analytics across 11 platforms plus Skool, with the Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn slots all going out from one workspace. Creator OS applies each platform’s own rules when a post is sent, so you write the caption once and the system handles the differences. If you want the broader framing of how this fits a creator’s setup, read operating system for creators.

How One Explainer Style Becomes 30 Posts

One style gives you 30 posts because the calendar mixes formats, not because you record 30 different videos.

Start with three base clips in the same style: a 45 second long-form cut, a 30 second mid cut and a 15 second hook cut. Each one is an explainer about a different idea in your niche. Now map formats onto them.

Post type Per month What changes
Long cut, YouTube 4 Title, description, thumbnail from the same style
Mid cut, LinkedIn or Facebook feed 4 Caption rewritten for a professional audience
Hook cut, Instagram Reel 8 Custom cover from the style palette
Hook cut, TikTok 8 Same file, TikTok consent flags filled
Thread or carousel breakdown 6 Text and stills pulled from the style frames

That is 30 without shooting anything new beyond the three base clips. The style is doing the visual work and the format mix is doing the volume. Before you schedule anything, run the caption lengths through a validator so a 45 character TikTok line does not get sent as your Instagram caption.

creatoros validate:post-length --text "Here is how a 30 day calendar works"

If you are building the style itself, the motion style atlas walks through the look, and the explainer video agency styles post covers which styles survive being reused 30 times.

Pick Your Atlas Style in 2026

Pick the style by how it survives compression and small screens, not by how it looks in a full-size preview.

Three questions decide it for most creators. Does the style read at 9:16 on a phone. Does it still read when the platform re-encodes the file. Does it look the same in a YouTube thumbnail crop and a TikTok frame. A style with fine line work and subtle gradients tends to fall apart in the second step. A style built on hard shapes, big type and two or three colors survives all three.

  • Contrast first. If the style relies on low-contrast overlays, test a still at 1080×1920 before committing 30 slots to it.
  • Type carried. If the style’s meaning lives in animated type, check that the same line fits a 100 character LinkedIn caption and a 4,000 character TikTok description.
  • Frame reuse. If single frames hold up as stills, you get carousels for free. Those six carousel slots in the table above cost you nothing extra.

Write the decision down as one line you can paste into a prompt later. Something like: hard geometric shapes, two accent colors, type at 70 percent of frame width, no gradients. That line is the style contract for the month. For the video work on the clips themselves, the open-source OPEN VIDEO EDIT skills turn a raw talking-head clip into an animated short with captions, logos and b-roll cards, and you can watch how that runs in the launch video.

Build the 30-Day Slot Map: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn

The slot map is a JSON file with one object per post, and building it is the only real writing you do that day.

Each row needs a date, a caption, a platform list and a file reference. Creator OS lets you upload media once with creatoros media:upload and reuse the returned med_ id on every platform, which matters when the same hook cut goes to Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn within 48 hours.

creatoros media:upload ./hook-cut-01.mp4
# returns med_abc123

creatoros media:upload ./long-cut-01.mp4
# returns med_def456

Now the calendar file has three fields worth planning deliberately. The first is spread. Do not put all eight Reels in one week. Two per week, Tuesday and Friday, gives Instagram time to test each one and gives you a steady feed of Reel watch data to read. The second is the YouTube slot. A long cut needs a real title and a thumbnail, so it belongs on a day you are not also writing four captions. Sunday works. The third is the LinkedIn slot, which wants a different caption from the same clip: the Instagram line is a hook, the LinkedIn line is a claim.

Day Platform Media Caption source
Tue Instagram Reel hook cut hook line
Thu LinkedIn mid cut professional rewrite
Fri TikTok hook cut hook line plus hashtags
Sun YouTube long cut title and description

Repeat that shape for four weeks and you have 16 slots from three clips. The remaining 14 come from carousels, threads and the second round of hook cuts. The schedule a month of content post covers the planning cadence in more depth.

How to Write One Request to Post Everywhere

One request can carry a post to several platforms at once, and the trick is writing the caption to survive every one of them.

The simple form of the request takes content, a platform list, media, a schedule time and a timezone, and Creator OS applies each platform’s rules on the way out. That means you do not need to know YouTube’s title limit and TikTok’s consent flags to send the post. The simple form fills the required TikTok fields for you.

{
  "content": "One style. 30 posts. Here is the map.",
  "platforms": ["instagram", "tiktok", "linkedin"],
  "media": ["med_abc123"],
  "schedule_at": "2026-03-03T09:00:00Z",
  "timezone": "America/Toronto",
  "post_type": "short_video"
}

Two rules make this reliable. First, networks in the platform list that are not connected come back in missing_platforms and the rest still go out, so a lapsed LinkedIn connection does not kill the Reel. Second, if you need per platform captions, use the advanced form where each platform is an object with its own content and options. That is the version to use when the LinkedIn caption is a claim and the TikTok caption is a hook.

For a month at a time, the CLI takes the whole calendar file. Run it with --dryRun first.

creatoros posts:bulk-upload --file calendar.json --dryRun
creatoros posts:bulk-upload --file calendar.json

The dry run is where you catch the slot that says March 31 on a 30-day month, and the one where the timezone drifted.

How to Schedule a Month of Content in One Sitting

A full 30-day calendar takes one sitting if you separate writing from scheduling and never do both at once.

  1. Write all captions in one pass. Thirty captions in a text file, no platform tab open. This is the slow part and it should be.
  2. Upload the three base clips. Collect the med_ ids. Do not re-upload the same file per platform.
  3. Assemble the JSON. One object per slot, schedule times in UTC, timezone field set to your own.
  4. Dry run. Read the output line by line. Fix dates and platform names.
  5. Send. Everything lands as scheduled posts in one workspace.
  6. Check the best time. Run creatoros analytics:best-time --platform instagram before you lock the second month’s slots, not the first.

If your clips need more than a cut, the open-source Social Agents harness at github.com/kevinbadi/social-agents runs your socials on Creator OS. It interviews you about your brand, then posts, replies to comments and DMs and reports, with a local dashboard. Bring your own model.

Can You Post to All Platforms With One API?

Yes, one API key posts to every connected platform in a single workspace, and that scoping is the safety feature.

A Creator OS API key is pinned to one workspace, which is one set of socials. An agent holding that key cannot post to another client’s accounts. Agency plans give each client workspace its own scoped key, so a 30-day calendar for one client can never leak into another. Read-only keys can be created in Settings and the API refuses writes from them.

If you are driving this from an AI app rather than a script, the hosted MCP server at mcp.creatoros.ca/mcp exposes the same capability through tool names like create_post, upload_media_from_url and check_caption_length. The connection gets its own key and shows up under Settings, Connected apps. The MCP docs cover the setup, and the posts API reference has the full request shape. You do not need to know the base URL from memory; it is in the docs at creatoros.ca/docs.

FAQ

How do I make a 30-day content calendar from one explainer video?

Cut the style into three base clips, a long, a mid and a hook, then map formats onto them: four YouTube long cuts, four LinkedIn or Facebook mid cuts, eight Instagram Reels, eight TikToks and six carousel or thread breakdowns. Put each slot in a JSON file with a date, caption, platform list and a reused med_ id. Send the file with creatoros posts:bulk-upload after a dry run.

Can I post to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn at once with one request?

Yes. The simple form of the post request takes a platforms array and Creator OS applies each platform’s rules on the way out, including the TikTok consent flags. Platforms in the list that are not connected come back in missing_platforms and the connected ones still publish. Use the advanced form when you want a different caption per platform.

What is a content calendar MCP and do I need one?

It is a hosted MCP server that gives an AI app tools to create, schedule and read posts on your accounts, and Creator OS runs one at mcp.creatoros.ca/mcp. You do not need it to schedule a month, the CLI and the API both do that. You want it if you would rather ask Claude or ChatGPT to assemble and send the calendar for you.

How many posts can I get from one explainer style?

Thirty is a realistic month from three base clips once you count format variants rather than new footage. The style stays identical and the caption, format and platform change per slot. Stretch further by pulling single frames out as carousel stills, which cost no extra render time.

Do I need the LinkedIn API to schedule post content?

No. You connect your LinkedIn account inside Creator OS and the platform handles the API side, so you never register an app or manage tokens yourself. One API key pinned to your workspace can then post to LinkedIn and the other connected networks in the same request.
